Volvo Cars USA partnered with various design concentrations at SCAD to assist in the research and development of concepts for the future of the user cabin experience.

My role

I served as a user experience designer assisting in the primary and secondary research, concept exploration, visual design including guideline creation and iterative user testing.

Challenge

Lenovo's Aura Edition PCs came packed with new technology and software. Amongst the new and exciting offerings was Smart Care. Smart Care is a centralized software solution on both PC and mobile that ensures prompt and efficient customer support. It provides a unified experience of support services across channels with intuitive interfaces and eliminates the hassle of switching between different support platforms. Everything you need is in one place.

Smart Care aims to empower customers to swiftly and efficiently get support and resolve issues on devices, minimize support time, and enhance overall customer satisfaction and experience.

My role

I served as our user experience design team lead managing a small team of collaborating designers to deliver this PC and mobile experience. Additionally, I was the primary UI designer of the mobile application delivering all screens shown in the Mobile Experience section. It was also my pleasure to assist with our user testing and design validation process.

The final step of our process was envisioning our UI. We created design guidelines working within the Android Auto space with simple and engaging interactions.


We used bright colors to Indicate points or Interaction to help users effortlessly log data while staying connected to the road, and uncluttered screens with important information clear and concise.


We proceeded to create an interactive prototype to visualize how it would work in a real world context.
